I know this will not effect some farms ever. At what temperature do you abandon Laproscopic AI if you don't have a heated recovery room and switch to cervical AI.

The last time we did lap three years ago the temp was 6-7 Deg.C 41Deg.Fah. we lost no does shortly after the precedure but lost two six weeks later to pneumonia. Even a cold rain can effect deer that have been tranqed and they can have real trouble regulating thieir body temperature and overheat or get hypothermic. I know of a case where does were lap AI'd at cold temp (- 20) and they all died.

We have had to set some guidelines for our farm, lap AI at 7 Deg.C and only in the morning,no rain or switch to cervical, we are planing a heated recovery room,we are thinking that we would keep the room at 10-12 deg C (50 fah) to not have any reactions of overheating as our deer have winter coats already.

not really a case of pneumonia, more like hypothermia, after the body temp drops more than 3 deg. you will need an outside heat source as the body cannot warm itself.
