Here are a few pictures from our new ranch. It is still a work in progress. Fences and breeder pens will be completed in about 2 week and our new barn/handling facility will be started next week. The first picture is in the preserve at a water gap. Second pic is in the doe pens. Third and fourth pics are looking down the lanes east to west. 20 total breeder pens. I will get some completed photos as soon as it is done. Thanks for looking

Michael, What was the land used for before you purchased it, I like it ,fairly open with a few shade trees. I like less trees and hiding places in my doe pens, the fawns turnout much calmer. Where is the new farm or should I say 3rd farm?

Roger, no snow yet. Looks like we might have a white Christmas though. I saw enough snow last week up your way.
Curtis, it was just ranch land for cattle. I agree with you on the open pens. Mine now have no trees so a few will be nice. The buck pens will have plenty of cover as you can tell from the fourth picture. The new farm is about 10 miles from where we are now. Stepping up from 20 acres with 10 breeder pens to 100 acres and 20 pens. It might be done someday....lol We have been very blessed to be dealing with a couple of great companys on the fence and barn. LE Fence from Texas and WC Polebarns from Oklahoma. They have been very helpfull in makeing our dreams and crazy thoughts come true. If anyone is needing any fence done these guys are AWESOME. This is our second project with them and we are totally satisfied. Maybe you guys can come down this way soon to see it. It's a heckofva lot warmer here...lol

You chicken s--ts. It hasn't even been really cold here yet. Actually it has been pretty nice in the evenings here recently. Somewhat cold, but no wind. Then the cold isn't bad if no wind.
I like walking around in the deer pens with the stars shining in the early evening and the snow crunching under my steps. The does all following me around wanting peanuts. I leave the lights on that are on the back of the house and it gives just enough light in the pens to see who is who and to just enjoy my deer.

If you like the pedigrees I made up for your deer you should then check out the ones coming for next spring. Assuming the breeding goes well. If your logged in click on the link below and check them out.

We use the Ritchie water fountains. You can check out the 2 links below. The bottom one is for a video we made giving a simple explanation of what we did putting it in.
