I put 3.5 inch drill pipe in my low areas , drove the pipe 6+ feet into the ground, never had a problem yet, use a heavy exhaust clamp to hold the wire down at the bottom of the pole

gc whitetails,
I also live in WI. We are located in the north central part of the state. 20 miles west of Wausau, WI.
I know of some fence suppliers and they also install fence projects.
Call me and I can share whatever info I have about this and anything else you might need some answers to.

I use locust trees, they ggw fairly straight and there is a variety of diameters on our farm, they are everywhere around here.. my pap used them on his cattle fences, that was 15+ years ago, 95% of them are still standing strong today, even in our swampy areas.
