Very nice as previously stated. If I ever get a chance to get away that would be a nice facility to tour.

Gutten Himmel!!! Awesome setup!!!!
Being there this sping does not on the ground does not show the whole picture as you have done. Great Job. Question: behind the lab are the pens steel wall or are they fabric on fence? Can't remember.
Good Pictures, Alex
What meant to say, was being there on the ground versus the aireal view is much better. How is that, haven't got the the cob webs out this morning.

Well, behind the lab are 24 grass pens designed for bottle feeding fawns, next to those the twelve tan pens are gravel pens designed for does that we have to take in for surgery and need to spend 24 hours not eating or drinking.
After traveling the pens this morning it looks like we'll have some fawns on the ground by Monday morning to fill those 24 pens over there. Fingers crossed and prayers sent for good weather, huh?
Keep in mind all you dear farmers, tomorrows mothers day and I'm taking my mom for a nice long walk and a big hug. :)

800 to 900 fawns born. Say a 50/50 ratio and then take the low side. 400 bucks born. Minus say 10% for loss growing them out. Approximately 360 bucks making it to a mature age. What will happen to the hunting market?
And then all those extra does that are born?
I guess it was fun while it lasted.

Great pictures!
I have some questions (apologies if they seem obvious - I've lived in the city all my life)
So how big is the facility in terms of acres?
What proportion is hunting land vs grazing land?
Isaac@AppleCreek
05-15-2009, 04:50 PM
it is about 1500 acres of hunting land and 150 of grazing pens.:o:rolleyes::D
angusgreen
05-16-2009, 04:39 AM
So it would be about 3 deer per acre on the grazing pens then?

angusgreen,
Are you taking the 800 to 900 fawns on the way into consideration> this would double those figures and then some.

Thank you, Robert C Bittinger, I am home schooled and have lots of time to spend with the deer farm. This is a wonderful blessing.
