Looking for opinions for what sire would be the best.

We want to use a very wide 7 by 7 sire in our AI program this year. Who is the best choice? Texas? Northern? Southern?

You input is appreciated.

Thanks

First deer that pops to mind is King George from Woodard Whitetails. Call Henry at 423 595 8898 and ask about that buck. Great looking buck.
Tell Henry that Roger says hi.

Even with all the great bucks out there these days not to many make that 7x7 wide list. Don't forget Rancher he is 7x7 and 24" wide @ 3 years old. He has very good tine length also. Check him out on whitetailquest!

In talking with several people, Maxbo Impact's name came up. I know he is not real wide but an impressive 7x7 yearling.

What are your thoughts on him?

Our herd is based on main frames. We want to add width and additional points.

thanks

I could be wrong but, I only know of one yearling named Maxbo Impact and although he is a nice yearling I think he is a 5X5.

Jailbird last year at 3 was 26 1/2" inside and 35 3/4" outside. He's a 7x6 mainframe.

Randy is right, at 1, Maxbo Impact was a pretty 5X5 mainframe with a 19+ inside spread (second picture). It hard to predict what he will look like at 2 or 3. On the other hand Maxbo 727, was an 8X8 and in my opinion is one of the prettiest yearlings ever. He was also almost 25 inside as a yearling which is unheard of.

While his semen is very limited, we have some very nice yearlings coming up out of him this Summer.

Of course Maxbo himself would be a great choice and would qualify as far as at least a 7X7.

Thanks
Sam

Here is another wide 7x7 typical from Texas!

If you would like to talk to the owner, Chris; You can call him at- (713) 853-7423.

The semen is now on Whitetail Exchange! If you ask Robert Willams Bambi 20/28 largest growth year was at 4 Yrs.

Karl,

Love your post on wide 7 by 7 bucks but who is passing this trait? Great question. And I want to know also. Last Night I lost the straw of Climax on W.E. all I can say is he tops any wide 7 by 7 in Apple Creek pens. Hope they list another.

Browning Whitetails is breeding with 20-28 this fall and we expect great things he has a awesome look and can also pass it on, from what i understand he has not been bred with allot and also has 25% northern blood in him according to Robert Williams.... so far 20-28 in a pedigree has seemed to produce good pricing at the northern sales

Karl,
I had the opportunity to see Genesis last year. Let me tell you photos can't not compare to a face to face visit. Genesis is worth taking another look at.

I am new in the deer industry what I have learned is. When you are looking at deer and begin to narrow your search try to visit those top few deer on your list. You will be welcomed, learn a lot, and will satisfied no questions asked on the decision that you have made.

You might also want to check out Thunderstrike. He is a 7 by 7 owned by Jerry Bell, Hurricane Creek Whitetails.

As far as these bucks go I agree, Rancher is my choice. But another good one that comes to mind is REX. Rex comes from Laurie Pasnicki and Maple Hill farm. Rex is a clean 220" ROLEX son. He isn't real wide, but he is only 2yrs old.

You picked some great bucks(thunderstrike,Rex and Rancher) enjoy the Quest info. Lori and Jerry sure know the look.
