This will be my first year to have fawns. How many should I expect to get from each doe? Their average age is 4.

plan for 2 a deer to make it easy....this will put you very close to where you should be.

Once you factor in natural mortality it will be less than two most likely.

I planned for 1.8 and then assume an additional 10% mortality each year. How does that sound?

That won't be off by much.

You could always get the UNEXPECTED........... 7 does 1st and second time mothers gave us 21 fawns plus 1 doe fawn gave us 3 buck fawns so even the best of plans CAN change! Good Luck........I'm always like a kid at christmas!

in my 3 years of fawning seasons with 3-4 does a year bred, i only got a single once, triplets once, twins on every other occasion.

The big question is how many buck fawns will you have, and how many will survive.

My first two years I had all doe fawns, but eventually it evened out to about 50/50.

Good luck.
