My doe developed this thing on her back about 2 weeks ago. It started out small and I just thought it was a tick on her that was swelling up from sucking blood. But it never went away. It got bigger but now for the last several days it hasnt changed in size. I have no idea what it could be. My one buck had a wort last year on his forhead but it was way smaller than this thing. Any thoughts or suggestions would be good. O and she doesnt even act like it is there.

We have one with the exact same thing, almost same place. ????????????
Does not bother her, even when I pull on it. ?????

It looks like a wart to me , and it shouldn't hurt anything . It probably started with a small wound or skin scape and is actually a virus of sorts and could be transmitted to other deer if kept in close quarters . Most of these warts will last a while but most will be gone in less than a year as your deer will build up an immunity to them . Anyway I'd think it was a wart but it's just my opinion !

deer pick up th bacreria that cause pamphlomas from the soil,it can enter through a cut ,or an injection site, I have even seen it from a scrape when deer are boxing, they fall of on their own ...at take their own time doing it

It is a wart. It does no damage to the deer or the meat, but is unsightly. Normally, they fall off on their own, but if you want to speed-up the process, take a piece of mono-filament line and tiie the base of the wart tightly. It will then dry up and fall off.

It is a fibroma. It won't cause any harm and it will fall off eventually.

Hey Guys i just got an email from a friend of mine about how to tell who your real friends are......

Step 1 place your wife and your dog in the trunk of your car

Step 2 leave them there for an hour

Step 3 open the trunk and see who is glad to see you

Just a little up date that thing on my does back fell off and if fine now. But no my yearling buck has one on his shoulder. lol go figure. Im pretty sure it was some bacteria infection like was said earlier caused by fighting, bc about a month, month and a half ago they were hoofing each other pretty good.

Yeah Jared you`ll see em from time to time. It`s a virus and no real reason to worry. I`m supprised it has fallen off so early.
