We all know the crucial role our armed forces play in our everyday lives and the freedoms we enjoy. After a deer hunt this past fall, Wisconsin deer farmer Bill Vyvyan, Wildlife Federation President Jack Nissen and an injured vet were discussing that very topic. They decided on a pheasant hunt and felt a military mission type name will help honor the intended recipients; disabled veterans. As an industry partner, USSA was honored to help find those veterans who were eligible for this hunt.

Sponsorship for this pheasant hunt came from WI SCI chapter, Menomonee Falls Rod and Gun Club, Dousman Gun Club, Probe Technologies, Inc., Waukesha Co. Conservation Alliance, Palmyra Fish & Game, and John Riehle.

As you can see by the pictures, the game rich, beautiful Wisconsin countryside helps make the hot blowing sands of Iraq, the mosquito infested jungles of Vietnam, and the battle fields of Europe just a distant memory. This was truly a fine, memorable event. Many thanks to all who helped make it a reality.

God bless you all!

Pictured above (second picture from left) is my only son who left last Monday for Navy boot camp. I'm proud of the decision he made to serve our country and maintain our freedom. For years he called me a drill sergeant; after boot camp I might just be “mom” again. God bless you all.
