If you click on the Manage Attachments buttom under the Reply box, a window will popup showing you the various acceptable file types and the sizes.

I can add (mp3, swf) if need be and can also change the picture sizes if the group so desires. However, remember larger pictures also mean greater bandwidth use and slower loading. However, since the pictures are shown as thumbnails, I believe it makes it faster.

Great job Russell. It`s not as hard to navigate as first thought. Just a little play time and it works well.

I must have been sleeping because I missed the nudies pictures.

One thing I liked better on the old forum was the ability to see all the threads under one heading. Now you have to click on a heading to see the threads. I'm probably just a little lame, but I find I am clicking back and forth trying to find a particular thread - just can't remember which heading it was under all the time. Like I posted the other day and had to search around to find that post again since it wasn't visible the way it would be on the old forum.

What I do at these new forums is click on the New Posts at the top navigation bar to quickly review the latest posts.

I believe there are a number of user options that can be set as to how you view and access the posts. Take a look under User CP. And there is also the Search function that will be useful when we get more posts. If you are following particular topics, you can subscribe and get e-mail updates.

Thanks for your comments.

How do you get a profile picture under your name? I have been seaching around trying to edit my profile and everything but cant seem to find where I can upload a picture.

At top of page on left hand side....go to user cp. That puts you into your profile. Then go down to edit avatar. You can then upload a picture from your computer to put a picture under your name.

Is there a way to click on post listed in the 1,3,or 5 days like on the old forum?

Russell

New Posts at the top will give you all those that you have not yet seen. Under Quick Links, you can select Today's posts.

I haven't found a way to display 3 or 7 day old posts.

However, remember that unlike the old forums, you can get e-mail notification of any particular topics or threads you are watching on here.

It is going to take a while for all of us, me included, to get to know all the capability of the software.

Hey Russell,
Question for you.
Is there a way you can set it up so when someone comments on a picture in a photo album that the people involved in the comments are notified? Like if someone comments on one of my photos I am notified, and then if I comment back to them under the photo it lets them know I commented back to them.
Thanks much for your consideration of this.

Roger,

I will check to see if there are some settings in the software that I can change to do this. I will let you know what I find.

Russell,

What about the live chat thing that you were looking into? How ya making out with that?

Roger,

It appears that the current version of vBulletin does NOT have the capability to notify you when a person makes a comment in your albums. However, a number of people have asked for this feature over at the vBulletin forums, so perhaps it will be added in a future update.

Drew,

I haven't had the time yet to fully investigate Chat software. I'm somewhat reluctant because we haven't had great success with it in the past (most people can't type very fast), it can take up a lot of server resources, and it is old technology (we should be able to video conference shortly).

But when I have some time, I will check into it again.

Thanks Roger! However, all I do is provide the web site and forum software. It is you and all the other contributors that make these forums a useful and valuable resource.

Just in case anyone is interested, we are currently (Jan. 2010) averaging just over 700 visits and 12,000 page views PER DAY!

So the forums are a busy place and I look forward to keeping it that way!
