Breeders License in Alabama ?

ok, have a question and maybe someone can point me in the right direction....I am thinking about seeing what it takes to get a game breeders license in Alabama or what license i need.....I dont necessarily want to breed them, but if i rehab a deer that is NOT fit to return to the wild (say health reasons) i want to know what recourse i have or guidelines i need to follow to keep the deer.......


any help would be appreciated.

You should be able to keep them and breed them with the permit you have now. As long as you don't sell or transfer them .. The license is for the breeders who sell deer. As long as you have the permit you should be fine. There are alot of people who just have the permit and not the breeders license.. Just contact game and fish to make sure. 1-334-242-3922 ask for Jill. She should be able to answer your questions

thank i will call her. iwas told when i got it that i could keep them till releaseable and they had to have access to freedom then......you never know who wouldnt be and we are goin to raise my pen fence higher to keep roaming dogs and coyotes out

I know that's what they tell you but I don't see releasing deer that have been in a pen or tame into the wild. It could be a hazard

funny thing is my big bad hunters in the area DONT want to shoot the releases..They wat me to tag them somehow..lol or spray paint them hunter orange......big softies they are......lol

If you do not intend to sell them the get a propogation license. It only cost $1.00.

i called jill, who put me thru to someone else, who said he have someone else call me................some said my permit now covers, some say it doesnt........either way, i printed out the propogation permit, filled it out, attached my ONE DOLLAR fee and have it on the bar for when i run into one of the guys......THANKS

If they require coordinates on the location you can get those from google earth for free.

can u believe i am STILL waiting ? i asked for a call at least to see what the requirements are. no one gave me the same answer, no set rules i guess, just guidelines...... grrrrrrrrrr
