One of the fawns we are bottle feeding is licking and sucking on the back end of the other fawns and she seems to be drinking there pee. Is she lacking something. She did get the runs, and we gave her pumpkin for 2 days and it cleared up but i was just wondering if this will hurt her. Everytime we stop her she just moves around until she can do it again thanks Ed

This is common Ed and it is a pain to deal with ........they can actually harm buck fawns by sucking on them....I have actually heard cases where it can be fatal to the buck fawn.......I'm sure your fawn is not lacking anything....some fawns just love doing it.....you are going to have to keep her seperate from the others till she quits.....she should grow out of it.....hope this helps....if anyone else has a remedy for this please let me know too!!!!

She will make them sore and can ruin your bucks.Your best bet is to separate them they can and will chew ears and tails off also I tried everything from stop chew spray for dogs to Vinegar to Pepto Bismol...My fawns hated the taste so I tried it...Didn't work Maybe somebody else can help but I couldn't find a long lasting deterrent.
Best of luck

Same here, It seems there will be one or two suckers every year. I have only been able to stop it by seperation. Usually a week or so will do the trick. Hope this helps, Maybe someone has a better solution. Allen

Sorry no solution here. I too have only been able to stop it by seperating them.

In the past, we have used black pepper to stop the fawns from sucking on each other. We patted a small amount on areas after stimulating them and after a few times, sometimes a couple days, they stopped (most of them). Of course they got the sneezes, but it was not a probelm. Just a little something that might help..... :) Good Luck!

Usually peppers burn twice but in this case it may be once for each fawn involved.

Another suggestion would be to put Tobasco sauce in with the vinegar. It works great for our fawns.
