Does anyone have any info on raising and bottle feeding elk i know the basics because i have raised whitetails
Bottle raising elk is done just like deer. The sooner you start on them the better. The female come out very tame and will be that way for life at least that has been my experience. The bulls I raised all were bad from two years old and up.
Start them in a darker area and stay with them and pet them. Clean bottoms and just bond with them. They are very slow to drink but the light bulb does go on sooner or later. From then on it just feed them and love them.
I have an old cow elk that is about 18 years old and always wants to be petted. In fact she will still walk by grain just to be with me. She will be here till she dies. She is a great pet.

so i guess they aren't like whitetails because my doe and buck went wild
Almost all my whitetails stop liking me when I turn them into a pens larger than 2 acres with natural food available. Elk and mule deer stay very friendly even in large pens of fifty to one hundred acres even when the natural food is plentiful.

Be careful with the bull. He will hurt you when he gets older.
