I recently talked with contacts in our county agriculture office and was reffered to an individual who is big in the county with a.i. in cattle. I talked with him and he is a dealer with a a.i.company and they have several tanks in his home where he keeps his and others peoples straws for cattle goats for 4-h and state competitions. He's going to get me a good used tank and the a.i. supplies for goats to use in deer. Every 4 wks the company rep comes out and checks the tanks and fills them with nitrogen if need be.
Just thought I'd pass this on since others are looking at this thread but with little response. i figured they must be interested also.
Good luck.

I have a MVE tank I keep here on the farm, it will go 120 day's before needing filled but I take it every 90 days and fill it.

A company called COBA comes to my place every 90 days and fills my tank with Notrogen. They are a Cattle semen company. They deliver to a few farms around me for cattle semen, that is how I found out about them. Ask around local farms, they will know of someone.

The other option is to store your semen at a facility - there are many of them. The cost is really low and you don't have to worry about remembering to fill your tanks etc. We have most of our semen at Great Lakes Sire Service in Michigan.

We currently store our semen at Trans Ova Genetics a large cattle facility in our area and in numerous states. It makes it handy for us and we can always bring a couple extra straws home on the day before we A/I just incase a straw pops or as a back up on a weak straw. Then the next day we just take it and thier tank back to them. It works great for us.
