Hi all,

We are now announcing the purchase and partnership and contest of WWF ENERGIZER. John Ward of Ward Whitetail Farm is where Energizer is currently growing his first rack. Walk Brother's Whitetails, Show Me Whitetails and Peak Whitetails will join Ward Whitetails on this very exciting new sire. This yearling buck is growing what some are saying to be the biggest frame ever to be seen on a one year old's head. Energizer is a Maxbo Shadow son out of a Rolex/Flip/Maxbo's Full Sister doe! I cannot say how much of a privilege it is to have this future super sire coming to PA this fall where he will have some of the Walk farm's best does to keep him company. As an incentive to anyone wishing to watch Energizer grow on this thread we have decided to give a free live breeding to the breeder who guesses the finished score of Energizer the closes. Wow! Contest rules will be as follows: One guess the 1st of every month and a second guess the 15th of every month. Guess's should be E-Mail to Cherr73@aol.com or posted directly here on this thread. With this look, pedigree, and marketing behind Energizer what will your live breeding be worth? Guess's will start June 15th and end Aug 15th giving you 5 chances to win this free live breeding. We will try to get one more on the 14th for everyone if weather is permitting. There has been a very big interest in Energizer all ready and a semen list is being started. If you have interest in buying semen for this fall please contact Russ Walk Jr at (814) 330-6861. In fairness to you we will not price him until late July so that we have an accurate market value price on him. At that time I will give you a call and offer our price and the number of straws slated to be sold for the year. You then can choose if you would like to put a deposit and lock in your straws. If we do not sell out our limit by the time we go down this waiting list we will openly offer straws to those not on the list. There may be some semen saved for the PA Sale and then the next opportunity will not be until the Top 30 which is after breeding season. Hi all,
This will be the last updated picture and video for the first round of guessing. Remember you get 5 guesses, one on June 15th, July 1, July 15th, Aug 1st, Aug 15th. I had some questions I thought should be answered here so everybody can be up to speed. Question:confused:: What if I can not take advantage of live breedings? If your state does not allow deer to pass its borders or if you would prefer you may trade your live breeding for a straw of semen;). Question:confused:: Why would I guess now when only my first guess counts? Hope this is not confusing but you will get five guesses that do count. In an earlier post I recommended waiting to see the latest video's in order to get the best perspective. That is the latest video's just before the guessing deadlines. Today will be that last video for the June 15th guess. We have only had a few guesses so fare and to avoid the exact guess of somebody else I'm posting the exact numbers taken - 214 6/8, 219, 207 3/8. I would expect to see some more guesses tonight and tomorrow. You may post your guess right here or E-Mail me your guess. Somebody will win! You have nothing to lose. Thanks to everyone who has chose to participate in the Energizer Challenge. Of course I'm trying to market our newest addition to the farm lineup while also trying to be original and fun:cool:. Below is a master list of all guesses up to this point for everyone to reference to avoid using exact numbers already picked. This is about to get interesting because guessing strategy will now become a factor. Where to strategically place your guesses in order to cover the most ground while considering the next rounds to your advantage. I'm not sure at this point what is more important... the live breeding/straw of semen or the good old bragging rights but just to make it even more interesting, I've decided to add a new element to our guessing game that may add even more strategy to how you place your guesses. There will be a new reward added to the game for the breeder that has the closest average;). OK, so I'm saying we take 4 of your 5 guesses and average them out for one score that is closest to Energizers official score this fall. You pick 1 score to throughout on September 1st (yes this is an additional round) that you feel was your weakest guess. Anyone who has not put in a June 15th guess will not have a through away guess and must use the 4 remaining rounds as there 4 guess average. This average will be called the :eek:Swarovski addition:eek:! Yep, a bran spanking new pair of Swarovski Binoculars for your deer viewing pleasure:cool:! So the grand prize is still the same, best single guess wins the live breeding/straw of semen on the Walk farm and now the best 4 guess average wins the Swarovski's:). If you have not placed a guess for any reason it's time to get in there and join the fun. For anyone that has not already guessed in our game and also misses the July 1st next round or if you miss a few rounds and do not have at least 4 guess entries you will not be eligible for the additional Swarovski bonus because you will not have 4 guesses to average. The new Energizer updated video will be loaded soon, but because it is not on the sight yet I'm going to bend the original rules a little here for Don W, Spiderman, 160goldstar and Mi bucks. Your guess will be added to the June 15th round:cool:. When the new video is loaded in a couple days in fairness to all who are participating we will have to pass your guess on to the next round on July 1st:(. The contest rules will be tighter in the next rounds. Although we will be loading new videos weekly, I recommend waiting until the newest video is released probably the last day of June for next rounds guessing. Remember the deadlines for your guesses are June 15th, July 1st, July 15th, Aug 1st, Aug 15th and for Swarovski reward throw away round will be Sep 1st. I was going to vote yesterday, but the rules said I was too late. So, I was waiting for new video and planning to post a guess for the July 1 deadline.

Changing the rules in the middle of the game is not being fair to everyone. You have just lowered the odds of the people that met the June 15 deadline and increased the odds for the people that were late. I think you should rethink your offer to retro-activate those LATE guesses. Thats why there were groundrules made at the beginning.

I know this is being done for fun, but personally I have already lost some respect for the game. If your going to change rules in the middle, then who's to say you won't be changing rules at the end too. What's to say that late entries made at the end of the contest would or would not be allowed? What if one of those LATE entries is the winner? Might be a lot of people feeling cheated.

The last thing I want to do is be disrespectful to anyone,especially the WALKS. I do appologize to the all of them. I am actually trying to be helpful. But in my opinion, everyone that has played by the games "original rules" has been disrespected by allowing late entries to be included. By rights ANY entries AFTER 12 midnight June 15 should be for the July 1 deadline.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it !!

I do see your point here and it is valid. I did say that contest rules would be tighter as the next round comes. These guys didn't see any more info than anyone else when they made a guess and didn't have an advantage and that is why I let them in here. Just some start up bumps. I apologize for your feelings on how this is coming together and hope that you will have patiences with me on this matter. For your confidence in this contest I promise this will not happen in the next rounds to come and I hope you can enjoy our generosity when nobody else is offering rewards at this time. My goal is for you to have something to look forward to as this deer grows out and to enjoy this business we all love.

On a better note here is a list of all Energizer videos available. The last video is the new upload. There will be more videos before the July 1st guessing round so be patient with your guesses. I understand your intent and the fact of giving someone the benefit of the doubt. I fully respect that and take that into consideration. Like I said before, the last thing I am trying to do is be disrespectful. To me with so many things in our industry being questioned, why would we want to create more.

To me, whether they had more info or not, before bidding, is not the issue here. Who's to say they didn't have other information from someone else or even personally visit the farm. The bottom line is, their bid was late. I held off on bidding because I was late. I played fair and I was the one cheated. Seeing more video or not is clearly not the issue. They have been allowed an extra guess into the contest. By being late they should have forfeited the guess due by June 15. Especially since they were REALLY LATE. Not by just a few minutes late, but 2-3 DAYS late !!

This has now allowed all the LATE voters, to now have 5 guesses instead of only rightfully deserving 4 guesses. Like I said before, everyone that played by the rules correctly has now had their odds of winning shortened and the late voters have been rewarded for being late.

As far as "start up bumps", I disagree. This is a topic that was clearly covered in the rules. Deadlines were clearly stated in the beginning. Not a new issue that was not covered in the rules.

I guess if nobody else has a problem with this issue and willing to speak their mind, then why should I put my neck on the line?. Personally I feel the integrity of the game has been compromised. I would actually like to hear what the other three partners in this buck have to say about this issue. I have a funny feeling this is going to be a problem when the contest comes to an end. Not neccessarily between the partners but just in general.

Perhaps I am the one that is wrong since I seem to be the only one to speak up about it. I guess I will join John Swank as being the rebel in our industry and speaking my mind. No disrespect John. I admire that in a person, and I have great respect for you.

Until someone else comes forward and complains, then I will keep my mouth shut. I appologize for being a disturbance. I just wanted to speak my opinion.

I haven't seen anywhere, in either the first set of rules or the updated rules, as to which scoring method is expected to be used. That can make a major difference. Are we to ASSUME that SCI is the method of choice?

I tried to stay out of this, I really did. I had a response typed out more than once and then deleted it. But I just can't no more.
What is the beef here?
I can say as an unbiased person since I have not even made a guess on what the score would be, and I'm not sure if I even will. But as I see it the guys are doing a couple of things here.
They are promoting their buck. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. Many people do that on here including me. Heck some I have seen lately take it over the top with their promoting. That's fine, it is Russell's site and he hasn't said much other than to keep posts in the categories they belong. Soon I will be promoting my bucks also.
The other thing these guys are doing is giving everyone a shot at a breeding from their buck. If someone doesn't like the way the game is being played just ask for your money back and don't play the game. Oh wait it is a FREE game. Hmmm how about that it is free.

I have stated several times that I am in no-way-shape-or-form attempting to be disrespectful to Russ or anyone else on this thread or the forum. I am educated and experienced in business AND law. I'm NOT trying to say that I am better or smarter than anyone else, just trying to help the PARTNERS cover their butts on some issues with this game. Perhaps I may have went about it in the wrong manner. Perhaps it was unwelcomed help. I have read and re-read all the entries that I have posted and nowhere is there an attitude or intended any attitude toward anyone about this game or anything else. I think some of you are reading a tone into my comments that wasn't intended to exist. I am generally a straight forward kind of person. Sometimes my straightforwardness get mistaken for rudeness.

Anyways, I don't have a BEEF as you call it. I simply asked what scoring method would be used. There isn't anything mentioned about that in the rules. I see several things on this buck that would be scored different ways depending on the scoring method used. We have seen bucks in the past that have drastic score changes when scored from SCI to B&C. If the buck is being scored B&C then I see many of the LOWER scores cashing in on this game. If he is being scored SCI then some higher guesses will most likely prevail. I guess my question wasn't answered for one reason or another. But I think that would be information needed to help make an educated guess on the score. I have used both methods and I am informed about methods.

I do understand that this game was just a throw together kind of thing and not anything "OFFICIAL". Perhaps I was taking it more serious than it was intended. I am very serious about my deer farm and the stock that we breed, just like most of you on the forums. I have been known to go overboard on occasions myself. My comments made previous were typed in haste and perhaps not worded properly. Being busy at work only allows me a limited time to play online. Dealing with people all day sometimes puts a guy in a not so pleasant mood. Especially when your dealing with INSURANCE. Some of that may have come through in my typing. I have simply been playing the devils advocate when asking questions and making comments. I never meant to ruffle anyones feathers. Please accept my appologies.

I commend the Walks and the Partners with this tremendous buck. This says alot about our industry and how far we have come in just a few years. Keep up the good work. With advancements like this, where will we be in another few years?

Russ Jr., those 8 second clips are just fine for dial-up users like me, I like the way they let you get a better perspective of the the deer,not only his antler size but the way he carries his antlers , you need a lot more than a head-on or going away shot to estimate a deers score.

I noticed a trend here so I went through the posts and counted. There are as of right now 10 posters on this thread that posted for the VERY FIRST TIME. I noticed that there seemed to be more and more new members joining everyday. Besides the first time posters I noticed many that had posted less than 10 times before posting on this thread.
Congrats Russ Jr for stirring the interest of people. I know many more people lay in the shadows and read this forum than what there are actual users. I talk with many who say they read things that us "regulars" are saying, but I can tell they are not contributors to the discussions.

Master list is filling up fast. I wanted to keep it posted and up to date as much as possible to save me some time on clearing up re-guesses. I will need a re-guess from lonestar2409 and jason21. If you guys could please post a guess that is not already used? The Roberts Ranch your guess came in to late for July 1st so it will be for July 15th and your July 15th will be for Aug 1st... Energizer looks like he will be one of the biggest "pure bred" Waldvogel yearlings of all time. Your average guess is now around 200" and has went up the last few weeks. The semen has been priced at $5,000 a straw with no restrictions for this year. We have decided to sell 20 straws off the farm for 2009 in the north to keep this deer extremely exclusive and rewarding for those who have chose Energizer for their AI program this fall. Regarding the MASTER LIST: There is two 193 5/8 guesses in the master list. Looking back through the thread I found the two guesses under post #115 and #146. The numbers are getting tight so BIG RED may want to get their replacement guess in quickly.

Double check my work, going back through this thread to check numbers gets confusing.

It is nice to see a some yearlings that still look like whitetail should look and not a bunch of tree roots on thier head. If everybody keeps going for score and not character the big tipicals will be worth a fortune --supply and demand.
