I want to feed Chaffhaye free choice and Purina Antler Max breeder elite 300 textured free choice, Can anyone tell me if this is not a good Idea.

Forgot to say we feed the chaffhaye free choice along with maxrax textured feed also free choice and it is working for us.

I have been feeding it since Purina changed it 's recipe. They love it ! The real proof is in the pudding. We are selling right now on special $12.50 per bale, need 6 pallets (240 Bales) to deliver to location unless you are in PA and can pick up, normal price is $14.50 per bale. Call me as this special runs out 4/30/11

What's the "opened bag life" of this stuff? I've read deer won't eat as much in weight of this stuff as they will baled alfalfa or pelletted feed? This true, or do they still eat 2-3% of their body weight of it?

call clyde mcmullen valley view rd.dry run pa.717-816-7009.he will answer any question you have.. iv`e been feeding it over two years.my deer love it,.no waste.thats the only hay thay get.theres a trick to feeding it.feed small amounts at a time.do-not let it get wet or lay around.i only feed about 2 lbs. per animal each nite.at first they will not eat it.thats when most people say my deer don`t like it an give up. just give it a chance...then all the sudden they can`t seem to get enought.i do not over feed this hay.i grain the deer every morning with harrys feed an feed hay at nite.pick it up by the bag or clyde will deliver by the ton with in reason.robert

I can kinda speak for this scenario. Some of you know i have not had much good things to say about the stuff. I tried it and deer didn't like it at all. That was my story.

I just recently picked it up to give it one last go at it before i wrote it off completely. They are eating it like crazy!!! So why the sudden take to it now and not then? My only logic is last time i tried it was in the middle of summer when our deer weren't only on sweet feed but had food plots and other various things nature provides. It was competing against the other forage i had established in the pens. Now that the plots have not come up yet they took to it like a pig to mud. So i will continue to use it in early spring before the plots come up and pick back up in the winter months when forage is limited from here on out.

I put out 50 lbs at a time and mine eat it ALL! Usually takes them three days to eat it but they eat all of it, no waste.

Robert i hope to see you get down this way when the weather warms up. You are always welcomed here and you know how us young guys are always into something. Jake is growing out thick this year and has dropped the earliest he has ever so we will see what he turns out to be. Great animal ( big Baby ) meets you at the bottom of the drive like a dog wagging his tail. LOL

Henry I will be calling you! As you know I took Jen to the sale and she came home with 8 bags. Not sure if she got them from you are not. She is the one who pushed me to give it another try. I wasn't going to waist my money as you know from talking about this stuff with you before. So she went against my call and got it and thought she was going to feed it with out me knowing. Little did she know that she needed help loading the stuff.LOL

We will be getting more in the future.

Robert you nailed it. Our deer were slow to start but now they love it. We also keep it dry by feeding it in a tub under a roof. We have found that if we feed about 1/3 bale a day to our does they eat it all with zero waste. This is now the only hay we feed. Just a great product.

I will buy a couple bags to try, I have only five does I will try putting it in a freezer so it last longer until my deer start eating it.
