here at the ranch, we would like to spray around the fences to keep the grass down on the outside edge of the fence. I was wondering if round up is deer safe or if there is any other herbicides out there that are deer safe. I see deer in the soybean fields when we spray for weeds, is it safe?? All and any advice is appreciated?

Go for it, I have used roundup at a 6oz/gal concentration for years. Other than the fact that they are all easy to find at night because they glow a bright green, it has had no effect on them. Just kidding Round-up or one of the generic clones that are 41% concentration are bio-degradable and pose no threat to pets, wildlife or fish.

We use round up out in the fields and sure enough I did see a wild doe glowing a bright green the other night , wondered why that was . We use 24 oz per acre of Round up altra or 32 oz per acre of the generic glassophyites. (SP) Just a thought ..

I also spray around my pens with roundup and never had any problems. I have also done it with fawns in the pen, they only seem to glow a little bit though. maybe I need to mix it a little stronger.

At the moment we are using 3% concentrate.
