NYDEFA Seminar & Auction

Please be informed that New York Deer and Elk Farmers Association is holding a Deer & Elk Cervid Farming Seminar Thursday, September 29th, 2011 and Friday, September 30th, 2011. An auction is to follow on Saturday, October 1st, 2011.

The event will be held at the Sheraton Hotel at 300 Third Street, Niagara Falls, New York. There will be a fee of $25 per day which will cover breakfast, lunch and seminar materials. The Thursday seminar will cover starting a deer business, developing a business plan, marketing, record keeping, and nutritional topics. The Friday portion of the seminar will cover herd health, fawn care, chemical immobilization, artificial insemination, semen handling, and facility design.

Laurie Prasnicki, Charlie Seale, and various industry leaders are slated to speak, with names to follow upon final confirmation.

We expect to have an industry leader present on each seminar topic, which range from creating a business plan for the cervid industry, to new health and nutrition information, to the finer points of semen handling/artificial insemination/fawn care.
