New York Deer Farmers Benefit Auction

NY Deer Farmers Association is trying to get back on their feet and I am honored to have been asked to be on the board. One of the first tasks on hand is the 1st Annual Benefit Auction to be held October 1, 2011 in the beautiful Niagara Falls, NY. NYDEFA is also holding several seminars to be held September 29 & 30, 2011 leading up to the auction. The auctioneer is Chupps Auction Service and bidding will be also available online through DV Auction.

We are asking our fellow deer farmers for consignments and or donations for the auction. There will be a $50.00 no sale fee on all lots not sold. 10% of the consignment will go to NYDEFA. If you choose to place an ad in the catalog, the no sale fee and consignment fee is waived. You heard right, if you place a full page ad for $350.00 or a half page ad for $200.00, there is no consignment fee or no sale fee on any of your lots. What a deal!

Lets help NYDEFA be part of the deer industry once again. A big THANK YOU goes out to those of you that have already donated to the auction. Your support is greatly appreciated. We will have something for everyone. We already have consignments from some of the top farms in the industry and some consignments from the smallest farms in the industry.

Well the work is done and the fun is to come.Everything we have consigned is at the printers for the catalog.It was a challenge to get it all put together in such a short time but we have a bunch of awesome lots for sale and a bunch of donations for the ny assc.I would like to thank all that have decided to support us and i will promise you that as long as i am involved in this it will be directed to the farmer and the industry as a whole.Next year we will grow in leaps and bounds with spaces for farmers booths and and any vendors interested.For this year we will make the most of what we have with some great seminars for the new and established farmers on sept 30th and 31st with the auction on oct 1st.With a casino and the niagara falls to visit..Thats just a plus!!!

Thanks daniel it was nicely done. It is a little on the small side with this being our first year to get ny back on the map.There is something in the sale for everyone.There are some great deer for the deer farmer that wants to change up some bloodlines,some for the new farmer wanting some does to learn the ropes with but that will also produce and there is some that are proven does with 300in sons that would do great in a preserve.This is just the start for us with this sale as from here on in the ny sale will be one of the larger sales with booth space for farms and vendors.With the sale being held in niagara falls there will be places to visit and sights to see when the auction is not on.Hope to see a bunch of ya's there and remember if you cant make the sale you can watch and bid on dvauction.com.

As a NY deer farmer and resident, as well as a friend of many members and an on again, off again member myself, I was surprised to not have received anything on this, no less a catalog. My heavy travel schedule lately probably prevented me from attending, but Id have liked to have seen something in the mail. I sincerely hope the association has a great turn out, and a successful auction.

Sorry bill but this was thrown together so fast there were alot of overlooked things!! I did not know myself untill a month before the sale.We have a pretty good turnout this year but i will GUARNTEE things will be a different deal next year........Just a side note... Russ Walk jr is here to support the ny assoc and just donated a straw of fear factor for$700....... People missed the boat on that one...Thanks russ!!!!

I would like thank all that helped in our first ny assoc auction. We had pretty good success for something thrown together in such a short period of time.There is room for improvement on some details of the auction service and there needs to be a better setup for the farmer to represent his farm and items he has for sale.Those areas will be improved and we will grow from here.Niagara falls is an awesome sight to see and with a casino on sight and with many family activities on sight its a great place for a deer auction.There were some great deals to be had at the sale.Glenn dice had a straw of Xcelerator in the sale as a donation.Those straws can not be had for this breeding season and someone is very happy that glenn opened that straw up and the price...Well what a deal they recieved..The walks donated a straw of fear factor that went at a great price for someone...You better thank russ jr..dave...A straw of poncho was donated by quaker valley that sold very well and i cant imagine there are to many of those floating around! Deer sales went pretty well with prices the way they are.Dakota whitetails brought in 8 great lots with 7 selling at asking price.Farm certificates went a little low in my opinion with farms like Will Penn,Valley View,griffith bros,mountian ridge,Birch creek,pine creek,rocky ridge and many more great farms opening up their farms with certificates,We need to support those farms a little more at all benifit auctions.All in All it was a great time and with the support we recieved and a little harder work on our part, New York will get back on the map in the deer breeding world..Thanks again to all that helped in any way,shape or form!!!
Oh and we want to thank shawn schaffer from nadefa for stopping in for a bit to give some of their support!!!!!!

I watched some of your sale online and it seemed like the prices on the deer in that sale were a little higher than some of the last couple sales. dakota brought some nice typ breeding deer and they went for good money. two wide-rambo-shock an ah all big deer that look like deer. hhmm i wonder why they sold.
