Online Chat

Russ, I think it would be a good idea to set up a online chat here on Deer Farmer. It would something different thing that would be fun. Let us know what ya think. Thank you for everything ya do on here, we all appreciate it more than we can explain.

I agree that an online chat feature would be fun and very useful in connecting with other users on here. It's already set up that we can see who's online . . . having the ability to ask them questions directly or chat with them would be a big benefit!

I am somewhat reluctant to add a chat function at this time for three reasons. Firstly, I did have chat software installed a few years ago and it wasn't used that much. Secondly, chat is so yesterday! There are many more different ways of communicating with each other now ... texting, face-time, skype, etc. Thirdly, chat software uses up a LOT of server resources. This is the reason that most hosting services don't allow you to set up chat software unless you have a dedicated server (which we do).

However, I am always open to ideas on how to improve and enhance our websites. So if someone can make a good enough case, I will consider it.
