I decided to start another thread with the link above to where you can see pics of Sudden Impact as he grows this year. By starting a new thread I could try and add a poll for everyone to use.

Will Sudden Impact be the next world record buck?

Will Sudden Impact hit 500"?

You can choose 2 answers in the poll. One answer for the record, and one for the 500" question.

what world record are we talking about? Goliath at 329 6/8 or Rolex at 377 never did here his official score but i see they keep advertising him as worlds largest buck.

My thinking is Goliath was 410" and some change, and Highroller was 417". Rolex was at 377", and Jeckle 355". Again, Thats what I believe. And MOST of the time it doesent count.

Let me finish to say, this is going to be a BIG argument when he is scored. There is going to be manure threw everywhere, so get ready. There is so much hype already built up, not only in the deer breeding world but in the hunting mags. Not picking sides at all, and sorry Roger for saying this, but lets not forget about some of these other "hidden" deer that might give the "world record" another run.

Well, I sure regret starting this thread now. I thought it would be nice to use the cool feature that Russell has on here for doing polling.
I had no idea it would start this stuff about who has the current record and who is saying what in their ads.
I am not trying to promote the buck or anything. Just thought it would be fun to see what folks thought.
Fact is I don't have any Sudden Impact offspring as of yet. Not sure if I even will have any ever.
I just thought that since he is clearly a special buck in the industry it would be fun to see what everyone thought about his chances.

I think without a doubt sudden Impact is on his way to becoming the next World Record....but i must say and truly believe he will be replacing that record which is currently held by Goliath.......Goliath was a Buck that was way before the times!! He never got the recognition he deserved because of the whole situation surrounding him.....I wish the Flees family the best and may their experience be much better than the Millers had when they held the Title. Hopefully, things will go smoothly for them.

Sudden Impact is not alone. He's still gotta beat some 4, 5, and 6 year olds that are making a run as well...

No Roger, I didn't mean to start any crap. I think its fun. I'll fix it. Then back you if it starts again.

Roger, Interesting tread you started here. This could be fun to see how others evaluate Sudden Impact's future. I voted that he will break the record, but will not hit 500". I think he is a monster and used him last year in 9 does.;) There is another deer brewing right now... He is a 2 year old... He is absolutely huge with a great pedigree. Probably 75 or more points! I don't want to steal Sudden Impacts thunder here so that's all I will say for now. Go Sudden Impact!

Roger, I like the post. I too was wondering if Sudden Impact will top the rest of the group. There are many great challengers to the title held by Goliath. The Millers are great people and very good friends of mine. I'm sure they will be the first to call and hand the title over to whomever has EARNED IT. It funny for us because we have a Goliath doe, 2 Sudden Impact buck fawns, 2 Rolex does and I'm sure many others that someday will be in the running for the title. I just hope to have one or two that you guys are talking(good) about someday. Isn't that what we are all doing this for. Best of luck to all who have the GREAT BUCKS.......

There's nothing for you to feel bad about Roger... I'll leave it at that.

Great post Roger. I think there are a lot of people with opinions on this subject that wanted someone else to start the outlet...As far as the world record debate goes, it'll be debated til the end of time probably. There's no way to justify trying to judge these deer based on our opinion of the score. Between highroller and goliath I would have to say I prefer highroller. Is there another deer out there that has produced so many huge sons that produce huge sons? I think we'll see several deer pass these two legends in the near future but the question is will they become legends? Will they compare to either one of these deer let alone Max or maxbo? Will Rolex be to highroller like maxbo is to max? Pass him up and make every doe with a uterus a "proven" doe? Dont know if sudden impact will make 500 or not, but if he or any other deer comes even close I believe that they should be panel scored at nadefa if they want to truly hold any sort of record, and my personal opinion is a gross B&C score, thats the scale we all charge shooters off of so that should be what we score breeders off of. I dont expect anyone to agree with me, just throwing my thoughts in the ring.

Of the deer "known" he probably has the best chance with his young age to break 500" but I dont think he'll do it this year.

B.S. RWalkjr, You cant do that. Thats against the law!!!!!!!!!

How about "Grand Canyon" from Blossers????????? Anybody seen him?

Reed, my problem is keeping them alive. I lost four buck fawns last week. One to naval infection, one to the fence, one to heat and one to a sorry B-otch of a doe that stomped him. I'm glad last week is over.

Hey Reed High Roller was 418 sci and Goliath was 410 BC. Then Goliath was rescored with a panel of SCI scorers and had a world record score of 429 6/8 SCI. He was the only buck to be officialy scored by a panel of sci scorers. So therefore he is the record holder as of now and the one to beat no Questions asked. Can't wait to see how many other bucks are going to give it a run this year or next year. Here is one i have in mind (Timberjack).

Reed68
06-29-2009, 04:22 PM
Virgil, I never really followed up on the SCI score of Goliath, so thats why it is stuck in my head like that.(I told you I was wrong). Its going to take a "panel" of scorers to score these deer because of all the judgment calls. It's going to be a mess. Glad I just have 140" deer, its pretty easy to score 6 points. By the way, I'm still waiting on a pic of LowRider?????

And-----Who is "Timberjack", I havn't heard of him this year, or his yearlings?

dtrain007
06-29-2009, 04:39 PM
I think all deer should be scored on a panel that have a chance to be the highest scoring typicals or non-typicals and any time anyone wants to say "World Record" anything, they should have the panel to back them. What we do now is like saying that I ran a 9.0 100 meter dash and no one was there to time me, but I broke the record? Come on guys, just bring those supposed records out and have them all scored together to see which bucks are the real records. I think everybody should be on the same playing field and it will show the true records. Just my thoughts...

From what I here Timberjack is going to have a shot at it this year as well as BamBam. I have seen pics of both and SuddenImpact as some growin to do if he wants to beat either of them.
Sam you should be happy with your chance having both of those bucks to watch grow.

Some bucks don't pure it on till the end, but i'm thining like rough country.

Don`t worry Rog this is pretty cool. Records were meant to be broken. You haven`t said anything of the record holder. When the next buck hits 450 we`ll all know what the real record will be to break. IT DOESN`T MATTER TO ME WHO HAS HIM. I will take my hat off to them and congradulate them on a fine job. All of those bucks that have went over that 400 mark are all in a league of their own. If we are wanting the public to view our bucks as world records they will want them scored the same as the rest of the world record holders. Sam hit the nail, the breeder tape or shooter tape? Just my input.

I dont know about you guys but I cant wait to see who breaks it!!!

I think Sudden Impact will score higher than the current record this year. However I feel he will be beat by another buck this year so he won't be the record holder. Maybe next year he is only 3. Just my thoughts. I enjoy watching all them grow. Good luck to all those growing these great animals.

I think "at this point" Timberjack is bigger than sudden impact. Sam is holding out on pictures, but the last ones looked great. I saw some pictures of Bam Bam and he looks like he could break 400 too.

people need to remember sudden impact is a slow starter, look for him to really start growing.

That's a good point red water. I heard somewhere that Sudden Impact grew 6 inches a day in August last year. If that holds true maybe he will be on top at the end this year.

anyone seen any of these bucks as of late ?

IndependenceRanch
08-29-2009, 07:25 PM
So I have heard Sudden Impact had issues with his rack and needed to be put down and have the rack removed. I heard he was not done growing yet, and that he was scored at 492"
How about that!

Josh

UNREAL! 30+ pounds!!

Holly

As of yesterday afternoon I heard he was still doing OK. Anyone heard how he is doing today? Man alive, I sure hope it all goes well. That is one HUGE buck. Greg said he did have growing yet to do. He would have broke 500 had they not had to take 'em off. Whew, that is awesome! Think about carting around a 30 lb fawns on your head all day, poor guy.

Here's to Sudden Impact pulling through and potentially setting another record for the books!!!
