David, here is Rockstar. I'm sure you have seen him, but he is out of PJ and has some growing left to do, mostly tine length. His mother is my Scar-superdoe(Scarlett). She a super producer for us. Rockstar is showing lots of potential for next year, and I love the width. Scarlett also has a buck on her side right now out of Larry-LOOK OUT NEXT YEAR!

RRW, That is a nice yearking out of Max Niess. Remember, Waldvogal genetics are not known too have big yearlings, but at two they blow up.

Thanks Reed for the compliment....we have high hopes for him. He's extremely calm too which I think helps alot on growing. He looks to have a fair amount of growing left in the next couple of weeks. There is a slight drop coming (you can see the start of it on last picture).

I have heard that the Max line are slower growers....we have a Maximus DT son that blew up real nice, wide and typical this year at 3. Was nothing special at 2 and now he's pretty awesome to look at.

Sure is fun watching them grow and how they change from year to year.

the Wide one looks like longarm.bout same spread.

Yeah, that one is wide(that's about it though:rolleyes:this year).....that is one we bought from the herd we bought out.

He might be something coming up though....he is a Maxbo great grandson on doe side and then he is out of PBW Dutch which would be a son of Thunderhead. I believe PBW are out of PA....can't remember what PBW stands for except the W which is Whitetails:D. The doe was bought live bred to this Dutch.

You just never know...do you!!

Robert this is only my opinion, but the green bag if i remember,is 20% or 16, 20 desinged to enhance natural forage, 16%, rut diet i think none for fawns, but it good feed if you mix it, 20 to much protien, burnng fat, corn should help, but main thing is it is formulated for certain areas, and antlers not fawn nutrition, i found best feed, 14%creep and 10 or 12% sweet feed, Baby beef.your manna or supercharger,or purina. to bring up protien,my fawns get manna bucks get supercharger, all getting cheap 14 ,and 12% sweet, then add purina if you choose.i just dont think strait purina is good for fawns,my thoughts only.Dc as far as spikes that genitic, and nutrition or lack of,the purina should cover the antlers but not fawns,DC Ps i have tried purina, maxrax ,record rack,i love the cheap,14 and 12 sweet. just add your likings.i like the purina or maxrax or record rack, as my additives,I will never again feed a complete diet,or one the by lonsome. It all starts with nutrition in the womb, bottle feeding, then their grain.most deer feed is desinged for anter,Dc

Here's a picture on one of our yearlings that look pretty nice. Never have had giant yearlings, but they always seem to look good at 2. Not a very good picture, but he is about 14 wide and nice tines for a yearling.

These two are the only two yearlings that I have. I am very greatfull to have them. The buck in the fourth picture, some of you may remember me posting about last winter. The tips of his hooves were breaking off. I think it was Reed who said it was an after affect of him being real sick(possibly EHD) in the fall. Well he seems to be doing good now.

Er, I have some doe's that still grow their hooves out until they break off, and they have been fine for 3-4 years. If that was the case, they look great! I have one that had BT last fall and he is just a fork horn. I always wonder what the sick ones would have done, if not been sick.
