Are these Texas Dall or Alaskan Dall sheep? The Alaskan Dall pure or 3/4 or above crossed Texas dall with Alaskan Dall have a good hunting market in the west.
The pure wild sheep are hard to keep healthy as their immune system is less than domestic sheep. Of all the wild sheep I would say Alaskan Dall are the hardest.
If these are Texas Dall semen from Alaskan Dall and Bighorn is available. Lap AI is best used on sheep. Hope this answers your question.

Texas Dall are my favorite among all the breeds. I don't know how strong you think the market is for them though. You'll always be able to sell your Rams, but Gold medal trophies will only go from $450-$550. I think that's usually when they are 4 or 5 yrs. 2yr olds probably around $200-$300. Anyways, best of luck to you, I've never raised sheep, only bought them in the past for hunters. P.S. Red sheep and Mouflon bring better money in the sheep market.

Droptine is right, mouflons bring alot more money.I've been raising pure mouflons for several years and they are the best investment I've ever made.We have a waiting list for them.Prices range from 400.00 for lambs up to 5000.00 for breeder rams.

I have Three, I was told thay are Mouflon.I had them sold to a friend who wanted them for his zoo,but he passed away.
I listed them last year to sell and had three calls and 4 emails nothing ever came from it,but I was not in a hurry to get rid of them because they are cool to have and watch...Everyone that visits like them.
If I had more room, I would keep them.
I feel If I had more they would have been easy to sell...but three arn't worth the drive.
I Hope that helps...
I will put pictures.
Make sure if you buy Mouflon you get Mouflon

I like the black bellies also. They're a pretty breed. Also, Painted Meadows is right about the Mouflons. Pure breed can be hard to find. Alot of them are mixed with Red sheep, which in my opinion makes them prettier, but they're not Pure Mouflon. Big difference.
